How much protein do you eat everyday?

I usually consume about 2 grams of protein a day per pound of bodyweight but lately I've been wondering if I should back that down a little.

How many grams of protein do you normally eat daily?

Let's see.....I usually consume about 114 g's alone with protein powder mixed with water on days when I have a workout plus any other mixed foods I throw in there. I'm not too sure of the exact amount but I think it exceeds 135 g's per day with a workout which is good considering I weigh about 135 lbs.

On days when I do not do a workout it is probably a little less. I'm a little undecided on 1 gram per pound or 2 grams. Unless you work hard at a workout, the body isn't really going to need a lot of protein but it varies for individuals. Since I'm only 5'6, my body doesn't need a lot to recover so I stick with about 1 gram per pound so I'm not wasting anything.

It may not hurt to cut down a little to about 1.5 grams just so your not adding unnecessary amounts of protein that your body will dispose of anyway while getting enough to satisfy the body's needs. This is just what I've gathered from others who have more experience then I do but it seems to check out alright.

If your goal is to try to gain lean mucle mass then I would say 1.5 grams of protein per lb of bodyweight. How Much Protein? is a good article that explains it in detail why.
